CONFIDENCE IN COMPLIANCE
Around 1908 Oliver George Hartland set up his own business carrying out stonework and sinking mineshafts as collieries sprung up across the Ogmore Valley, in the quest to find coal to fuel homes and industries. Little did he know at the time that the family business would still be going in one guise or another four generations and more than a hundred years later.
Oliver George handed the business over to his son Charlie followed by his children, Gordon and Gwyn Hartland. By the 1970s and with the demise of mining, the business became a traditional builder’s and work centred around new house builds, renovations and refurbishments, along with local authority work and some private residential developments.

WHO WE ARE
WHO WE ARE
Lee Hartland started working for his father and uncle in 1985 and is still at the helm today. Pivotal to the success and longevity of the business has been the tenacity shown by the family and their ability to adapt over the decades to adjust to market conditions. Lee realised that the extensive experience gained in the construction industry would enable them to diversify as a specialist contractor in passive fire protection (PFP) and be in a unique position to provide a turnkey solution for all projects. The excellent reputation Hartland earned in the construction industry has expanded rapidly in to the PFP sector and many of our clients have worked with us for the past 20 years.
INDUSTRY LEADING
OUR EXPERIENCE
OUR EXPERIENCE
Today the business has grown considerably, with a highly skilled team of 30, including contracts managers, project managers and a dedicated PFP project co-ordinator. We have our own inhouse quantity surveyors and several site managers who lead their own teams and are based at projects throughout the UK.
Despite our growth we still hold the values and personal service that has helped build our family-run business but we also have the expertise and scale to deliver the biggest projects on time and within budget.
